Technology Revolution in the Time of CPA Evolution
JUNE 15-16,2022 │ Chicago, Illinois
The Accounting Information Systems Section of the American Accounting Association is conducting an AIS Bootcamp, June 15-16 at the Deloitte Office in Chicago, Illinois. The day and a half boot camp will begin on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. and conclude on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
Purpose
Professions, including the accounting profession, are changing at a rapid pace. The AIS class traditionally provides much of the technology and business process content in the accounting curriculum; as the importance and breadth of technology expands there is need to expand the content both within and beyond the AIS course.
The Bootcamp will be facilitated by faculty speakers collaborating with practitioners from national accounting firms, industry partners, and accounting organizations. The goal will be to furnish attendees with disruptive technology discussion points and developed instructional materials informed by practice for immediate use in class and the evolution of the accounting profession. Evolution of CPA, AACSB Standard A5, and rapidly changing external stakeholders require changes in accounting curricula. As a result, all accounting faculty must incorporate content that has historically been the domain of AIS instructors. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop.
The Deloitte Office is requiring all Deloitte employees and external guests to be vaccinated to enter Deloitte space. External guests will be required to complete their Health Declaration each day you are visiting the office. This will be sent to all attendees each morning to be completed online. If it is not completed online, there will be paper copies available at the Office.
