Matt has a wide breadth of experience with technology and audit from several career perspectives with 20 years of experience in industry and within the Big 4. After some early consulting experience in IT Operations and data transformation, he gained several years of Big 4 IT Audit experience at PwC before moving out to Industry. There he was on the other side of the audit as a founding member of an IT Internal Audit function before moving into the CIO organization where he led the Security and Controls workstream for a large international ERP Transformation to SAP. Upon returning to the Big 4 at KPMG, he co-founded and led a large Data and Analytics organization with an international team of 150+ resources to enable data and analytics on the audit. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000 with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.

Past projects

  • Key founder, builder, and leader of KPMG Audit Data & Analytics organization.  Developed and Implemented operational strategy for hiring and managing over 150 global resources in the deployment to technology-enabled solutions to audit.
  • Implemented and supported over 300 audit engagements in their use of Data and Analytics, which included blueprinting, technical specifications, and processing of large-scale financial data.
  • Lead Technologist for Audit Innovation overseeing the exploration and development of next-generation audit technologies including automated audit routines, data acquisition, cloud data sharing, process-in-place, and augmentation of the audit with the use of AI.
  • Head of the ‘Audit Garage’ – an exploratory sandbox for technologists and auditors to converge in exploring use cases for next generation technologies

Scott Lampe is a graduate of Appalachian State University and began his career in 1995 with accounting firm Dixon Hughes PLLC in Raleigh, North Carolina. From there he joined Hendrick Motorsports in 1999 as controller and served as CFO from 2005 through 2019.

After working in private equity, Lampe returned to Hendrick Motorsports in 2022 as CFO where he oversees accounting, human resources, information technology, facilities, operational excellence and aviation.

Lampe’s past service and honors include Chair of the Appalachian State University Board of Trustees; Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors; Business Advisory Council for the Appalachian State University School of Business; University of North Carolina Board of Governors; member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; recognized as a top CFO by Business Leader magazine; 2010 Charlotte Business Journal CFO of the Year (large private company category); and the North Carolina Motorsports Advisory Council.
