Case Submission Information:

The MAS/IMA Teaching Case Conference is requesting case submissions (for complete cases) and case proposals (for early case ideas). In addition to cases related to traditional management accounting topics, we are looking for cases on current topics such as Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, DEI, and Sustainability (ESG).

Submission process:

  • Cases and proposals will be accepted for consideration until April 4, 2025.
  • Complete cases should include teaching notes.
  • Case proposals should provide a 1-2 page summary of the case idea.  These will be presented in a workshop style format where you can get feedback and advice from case journal editors, experienced case writers, and participants.
  • Submit all case documents (including teaching notes) to Stacey Whitecotton (Stacey.whitecotton@asu.edu)
  • Include in your email whether:
    • The submission is a case or a case idea.
    • The case is unpublished or published/accepted for publication.
    • You would like the case to be considered for publication in IMA Educational Case Journal (IECJ).

Review process:

  • Cases will be considered for conference acceptance by conference organizers and the IECJ Editorial Review Board.
  • The organizing committee encourages practitioner involvement as coauthors and presenters.
  • If the author would like for the case to be considered for publication by the IECJ, accepted cases will be forwarded to the IMA for first round review at IECJ. Authors will have the opportunity to modify their original documents to meet publication guidelines.

Acceptance:

  • Authors will be notified of case acceptance by early May.
  • Cases accepted for presentation will be considered for the IMA Best Case Award that will be presented at the conference along with a $1,000 cash award. The winner of the Best Case Award will also be recognized and asked to present their case at the 2026 MAS Midyear Meeting in Nashville, TN (January 2026).

The organizing committee is excited about the MAS Teaching Case Conference and looks forward to receiving your case submissions!
