Background

The Journal of Information Systems (JIS) is the academic journal of the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) Section of the American Accounting Association. Its goal is to support, promote, and advance knowledge of accounting information systems. The primary criterion for publication in JIS is contribution to the accounting information systems, accounting, and auditing domains by the application or understanding of information technology theory and practice.

The JIS proudly announces its 5th International Conference, which is designed to encourage accounting information systems researchers around the world, particularly from regions beyond the US, to submit their academic papers to JIS and receive the spotlight they deserve. This event aims to create a conceptual connection that transcends the geographical and intellectual boundaries of the participants and advances what is possible in AIS research.

Topics and Research Methodologies

Papers addressing a wide range of issues related to accounting information systems and information technology will be considered. All research methodologies are welcome, including experimental, qualitative, field study, analytical, behavioral, archival, and design science.

Paper Submission

Papers to be considered for this conference should follow the JIS editorial policy and be submitted to JIS using the AAA’s manuscript management system (https://www.editorialmanager.com/isys/Default.aspx) and by selecting the corresponding conference article type. Also, please provide a cover letter indicating your submission is for the conference. Paper submission fees can be paid at https://my.aaahq.org/Shop/Product-Catalog/Product-Details?productid={E4571C8F-77DE-EB11-BACB-002248206FBF}

Journal of Information Systems – Fast Track Option

Authors who wish to have their paper considered for publication in JIS should indicate this in their cover letter. Papers submitted for this option will be concurrently reviewed by JIS; acceptance to the conference does not guarantee acceptance into JIS. At the conclusion of the conference, authors pursuing this option are expected to revise their paper based on the comments received from the reviewers and interactions at the conference, and as required, go through any additional JIS review process.
