Cleveland has a proud history that is 223 years in the making. General Moses Cleveland of the Connecticut Land Company came to the Western Reserve and founded the City of Cleveland in 1796.
Cleveland is the home of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman, as well as a filming location for major motion pictures, including “A Christmas Story”, “The Avengers” and “Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier.” LifeSavers candy, the modern golf ball and the electric streetlight are all Cleveland firsts invented in Cleveland.

The Ohio Region ascribes to the same purposes and objectives as expressed in Article II of the American Accounting Association By-Laws. In meeting regional needs, the Ohio Region strives to facilitate broad-based member participation in the activities and programs of the American Accounting Association, endeavors to sponsor broad-based research and educational programs for the benefit of its members, and encourages interaction among members of related groups in the academic and practice communities.
