Learning Objectives: With the recent emphasis on the importance of integrating “Big Data” and a data analytics mindset in auditing, educators and practitioners are interested in developing a data mindset and familiarity with data analytics in their students and professional staff. The purpose of this Excellence in Auditing Education Workshop is to bring together auditing academics and practitioners to explore best practices relating to developing analytical skills and data mindsets in today’s students and early-career professionals. Presenters from practice and academia will offer their perspectives and insights on these important topics, will introduce and discuss practical teaching cases and technologies, and will participate in break-out sessions to share and develop new ideas.

Note: The CPE Fields of Study curriculum is divided into twenty three subject matter areas. These fields represent the primary knowledge and skill areas needed by accounting licensees to perform professional services in all fields of employment. Sessions that offer CPE credit have the Field of Study and Credit Hours (CH) in red. Each Credit Hour is based on 50 minutes.
