Welcome to the 2022 International Accounting Section’s 18th Annual PhD/New Faculty Consortium
The International Accounting Section (IAS) PhD/New Faculty Consortium, partially funded by the KPMG Foundation, will be held on January 27, 2022 at the Sahara Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The consortium will be on Thursday, January 27th from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Consortium participants are required to attend the IAS Midyear Meeting that runs from 8:00 am on Friday, January 28th through Saturday, January 29th. Consortium participants are welcome to join a “pay your own way” dinner on Wednesday January 26th. Details will be sent to participants via email.”


Interested participants are encouraged to complete the application form below by Monday, October 25, 2021 Deadline has been extended to November 15, 2021. Capacity is limited so please submit your application as soon as possible.  

Attendance is subject to approval by the consortium organizers. Doctoral students who have not attended an IAS consortium previously will be given first priority. New faculty are faculty members within 3 years of graduation.

Note that you must be an American Accounting Association (AAA) member and a member of the International Accounting Section to apply to attend the consortium.

Doctoral students who have not yet joined the AAA and IAS may purchase a student membership at: https://aaahq.org/Membership. New faculty who have not yet joined the AAA and IAS may purchase a faculty membership at: https://aaahq.org/Membership.  If you are a AAA member but not an IAS member, you can join the IAS at: https://aaahq.org/Membership.Be sure to do this before applying to the consortium because you will need your AAA Member Number to complete the application form.

Hotel Information
Up to 20 accepted doctoral students will have all meeting fees waived (inclusive of the IAS Midyear Meeting fee) and the IAS will cover lodging at the conference hotel on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The rate for these nights is $69 per night plus taxes and fees. Additional doctoral students will be required to pay the Midyear Meeting fee at the student rate but will have consortium fees waived. Hotel accommodations will be reimbursed AFTER the meeting, provided that the student attends the full consortium and Midyear Meeting.

Accepted new faculty will have consortium fees waived but will be required to pay the Midyear Meeting fee.

Consortium attendees should make their reservations directly with the hotel and will need to provide a credit card number to the hotel. The deadline for hotel reservations is January 3, 2022 but we cannot guarantee that additional rooms will be available once our block of rooms is sold out, even if the block is sold out before the deadline. If a participant is unable to attend the meeting, they must cancel the hotel reservation in advance to avoid a cancellation penalty.

Travel to and from the meeting is not sponsored by the IAS.
