Our in-person Midyear meeting has transfered to a virtual setting while preserving the key elements of our traditional program. Our members from around the world will be able to attend the meeting, interact with each other, and strengthen the work being shared. The IMA Doctoral Colloquium will be held on Thursday, Janurary 6, 2022,  the Research Conference on Friday and Saturday, January 7 – 8, 2022 and the CGMA Teaching Symposium will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

CGMA Teaching Symposium
After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe current examples of data-driven decisions and necessary resources/skills
  • Understand practical tips for teaching data-driven decision-making  
  • Deploy strategies to create a more positive and memorable impact on students
  • Explain the future relevance of management accounting

IMA Doctoral Colloquium

  • Develop data analytics skills for research and teaching
  • Select and develop research topics that are relevant to accounting practice
  • Navigate the challenges of doctoral programs

Research Conference
After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Differentiate between different types of controls in an organization
  • Explain what management control systems are
  • Understand the challenges of artificial intelligence for management accounting  
  • Link control problems in a firm and its corporate social responsibility activities
  • Understand the influencing factors of executive compensation

These fields represent the primary knowledge and skill areas needed by accounting licensees to perform professional services in all fields of employment. Sessions that offer CPE credit have the Field of Study and Credit Hours (CH) in red. Each Credit Hour is based on 50 minutes.
