Advanced Preparation Required: This workshop includes several teaching demonstrations on creative ways to teach core audit topics (e.g., audit demand, materiality, assertions, reporting) to incorporate into your audit classroom. We will also be led through a technology case demonstration that uses Alteryx to assess internal controls and fraud associated with P-card transactions. As such, you should bring your laptop computer, pre-loaded with workshop materials that will be provided to registered participants two weeks prior to the event.

Learning Objectives: Auditing has changed, but the core concepts and goals of the audit have not. During the 2024 Excellence in Auditing Education Workshop, audit educators will gain an inside scoop on the training and work a staff auditor is doing in the contemporary audit environment. Educators will learn creative ways to teach basic audit concepts that will engage students and help them understand and better apply these concepts in and outside of the classroom. The workshop will consist of a panel discussion by experienced practitioners, followed by a series of hands-on demonstrations of activities and a technology case that can be used in audit classrooms. A copy of the workshop agenda with more details and specific case information can be found below. 

Prerequisites: Install required software and download provided data files. Instructions to access necessary content will be e-mailed to registered participants one week prior to the event.
